About the Class This course will offer the tools an actor needs to prepare for a wide range of Network TV auditions. From recurring under-5's (nurses, paramedics, etc), to series regulars, you will focus on a new genre each week and get ample time in front of the camera to work scenes and practice applying feedback in-the-moment. As we advance in the level of material we’re called in for, it’s easy to lose sight of our own strengths. This class aims to encourage folks to approach approach high-pressure auditions from a relaxed state. About the teacher Maura Kidwell is a Chicago-based director, actor, coach and screenwriter. Most recently she wrote and co-directed an award-winning short film, THE PRIZE, and produced the short films XCHANGE and WE IMAGINE ISLANDS with WaitWhat Films. TV acting credits include THE BEAR (Hulu), SIRENS (USA), SOUTH SIDE (HBO Max), JOE PERA TALKS WITH YOU (Comedy Central), CHICAGO MED, FIRE and JUSTICE (NBC). Film credits include GRASSHOPPERS (dir. Brad Bischoff), CRAFTED FOR CHRISTMAS (dir. Jack C. Newell), and Cursive frontman Tim Kasher's directorial debut, NO RESOLUTION.
