Service Description

Tier 2 - Maintaining vulnerability despite audition intensity. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN Authentically approach your audition material by analyzing the truth that’s on the page as well as considering the truth of what you're personally experiencing that day. In this class, you'll learn strategies to help you navigate what's showing up for you in the moment. Week 1: Using The Truth You'll partner up with each other and get two takes at a cold read on-camera. We'll talk about effective storytelling, whether that's coming from your lived experience or how you're embodying your character. Week 2: Connecting the Dots This week everyone will be assigned a scene and get a chance to prep in advance, using the tactics learned in the first class and getting another chance to apply Tiffany's feedback in the moment. Week 3: Going Deeper This week will center around improvisation and partnering to inform your scene. We'll check-in with each other, optionally using the given circumstances of our day and/OR the character's given circumstances to build compelling narratives. Week 4: Concluding Truth We'll work on a final scene and talk about establishing a backstory and visible opinions for your character, concluding with a Q&A session to reflect on the last 4 weeks. ---- ABOUT THE TEACHER Originally from Chicago, Tiffany Renee Johnson is a professional actress with a BFA in Theatre from Howard University and 13 years of professional experience.
